After decades as a destination for budget-conscious fashionistas, Brands of Toronto is going out of business. I managed to snag a snazzy black pinstripe suit by Coppley at the closing sale today. Owner Simon Brand has been trying to find me the perfect suit for the last two years and, lucky me, he did so during his last week in business. I will miss his good-natured humour and generous nature.

I can't even describe how much I miss Simon Brand and his store. I started going there in the late 1990s and used to buy all my suits, dress pants, sport coats, etc. from him. I still wear some of them to this day. Good quality, great prices, great service, no pressure sales, excellent tailoring, great sense of humour etc. Icould go on and on. Did Simon recommend who he would recommend we go to after he retired and closed? I have not been able to find an alternative that I like. thanks. Jeff
